goo.gl is a service that takes long URLs and squeezes them into fewer characters to make a link that is easier to share, tweet, or email to friends. Its something like the other URL shorteners like bit.ly, tr.im, go2.me, tini.us, tinyurl etc. but here is a tool for Google Chrome browser that helps with better managing of the URL shortener.
The extension helps in shortening a URL with a single click on the button just beside the address bar, and you can then share the shortened URL directly from your browser from where it is shortened. Once compressed the url is automatically copied to clipboard and you can share it with twitter, facebook, blogger, delicious, digg, myspace, gmail or your default mail client.
From the options page you can customize the interface by selecting only the services you want. You can also decide to display the icons or the text for the services, and can set keyboard shortcuts for the extension and the shortening, sharing options.
This extension comes into work only for those who are using the Developer channel of Google chrome browser in Windows, and in Mac you still have to wait to use the extensions functionally.
