Wikipedia says its September 4th the founded date, others say its September 7th but Google shows its today, the 11th birthday of the biggest search engine on the web – Google! They flaunt it with a new logo with an interesting change in the letter L changed to 11 for a change to show mark the 11th birthday of the search engine.
Here is a small insight of the company –
Founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin named the search engine they built “Google,” a play on the word “googol,” the mathematical term for a 1 followed by 100 zeros. The name reflects the immense volume of information that exists, and the scope of Google’s mission: to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful.
The search engine is just now what Google runs right now, but there are many apps, a browser and an operating system for mobile, mail service and much more than runs under a single name Google.
The domain google.com was registered on 15 September 1997,[19] and the company was incorporated as Google Inc. on 4 September 1998!
Its been the leading search engine for long due to its mysterious algorithm to rank websites and provide the most relevant results for every search a user does.
