WordPress team has released the WordPress 2.9 version, named in the honor of magical jazz vocalist Carmen McRae, and you can download the latest version from the wordpress site, or just through your wordpress admin panel by going to Tools > Upgrade which helps you upgrade to the 2.9 version in just a few clicks.

Here are a few new features included in this latest version –

• Global undo/”trash” feature – This feature comes handy when you have accidentally deleted any post, or comment and want it back. You can just go to the trash and undo the deletion. The “Are You Sure” confirmation while deleting is removed, as the trash feature is introduced.
• Built-in image editor – This is one of the best expected features. You can crop, edit, rotate, flip, and scale your images and insert them into your posts, to make things more prettier.
• Batch plugin update and compatibility checking – Update upto 10 plugins at once, without having to do every single plugin separately. Apart from that, the compatibility checking tool checks whether all the plugins are compatible with the current wordpress version being used.
• Easier video embeds – Oembed support for YouTube, Daily Motion, Blip.tv, Flickr, Hulu, Viddler, Qik, Revision3, Scribd, Google Video, Photobucket, PollDaddy, and WordPress.tv and allows embedding by just entering the video URL and it turns into a embed code by itself.
